The importance of kids glasses and sunglasses with 100% UV protection
Children need to take extra care to wear protective kids glasses & sunglasses as they can’t filter UV light as effectively as adults.
What are the Differences between UVA VS UVB?
UVB Rays penetrate the ozone layer just enough to be absorbed by the cornea & lens.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

Make sure to verify the UV protection level on cheap kids sunglasses! Sunglasses without proper UV protection can actually be MORE harmful to children’s eyes, as the tint causes the pupil to dilate more which in turn allows more UV rays to enter the eye!
“While the skin’s risk for sunburn is greatest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the risk is greatest to children’s eyes is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. At those times, UV rays come from different angles and eyes receive nearly double the amount of UV than during midday hours.”
